DX Chiller & Evaporator DX
DX chillers represent the evaporating stage of the refrigeration cycle. By changing phase from liquid to vapor, the refrigerant absorbs energy in the form of heat, thus reducing fluid or air temperature surrounding the refrigerant. Whether circulating halocarbon refrigerant (CFC, HFC) or natural refrigerants (Ammonia, CO2), Docal’s direct expansion chillers can be configured in an endless variety of options such as tube surface enhancement (improved heat transfer), multiple pass systems (reducing footprint) and various metallurgy (carbon steel, stainless, copper, titanium, Cu/Ni…) in order to maximize efficiency and long term durability in harsh conditions.
Flooded Chiller Evaporator
Flooded chillers represent the evaporating stage of the refrigeration cycle. By changing phase from liquid to vapor, the refrigerant absorbs energy in the form of heat, thus reducing fluid or air temperature surrounding the refrigerant. Docal has been building flooded chiller for over 50 years, with installations in arenas, curling rinks, refrigerated warehouses, laboratories, marine applications, pulp and paper facilities as well as the oil & gas industry throughout North America and various other country around the globe. Available in a variety of materials (carbon steel, stainless steel, titanium, copper), our custom design allows for limitless capacities, configurations and dimensions.
Spray Type Chiller
Docal has been a leader in spray chilling design for over 30 years. The falling film design is very popular in the poultry and fishing industries, among other fields, where water temperatures close to freezing are required. This very specialized design (spraying refrigerant over tubes circulating water) drastically reduces the risk of tube freezing as well as lowering refrigerant charge. Our custom design allows for endless configurations and materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, titanium and any other metallurgical requirement for your specific application.
