SUCTION LINE HEAT EXCHANGER

On certain medium low temperature refrigeration systems, the use of a suction line heat exchanger can be recommended in order increase efficiency by transferring heat from the liquid feeding the expansion valve to the vapour going to the compressor, thus increasing the refrigerating effect at the evaporator inlet (by subcooling the liquid coming from the condenser).

Another advantage is the suction line heat exchanger is to prevent liquid droplets from entering the compressor, where it can severely damage the pistons and other internal components. The exchanger will protect the compressor by vaporizing the droplets that might be present in the suction line.

Docal’s suction line heat exchangers are custom built to your specifications and are certified according to the latest ASME standards, available with National Board (USA) or CRN (Canada) certifications. Post-weld Heat treatment and corrosion allowance available as options.
